In a Dec. 1 story about layoffs at newspaper publisher Gannett Co., The Associated Press reported erroneously that Gannett is merging the staff of USA Weekend magazine and USA Today, the daily newspaper. The company is merging the two publications' newsrooms. Other operations will remain separate.
